Home pickup for big TVs & county events Check with city

NJDEP's FAQ says some manufacturer programs offer home pickup for TVs larger than 40 inches or devices weighing 50 pounds or more. Examples include ERI (1-800-572-5300), MRM (1-888-769-0149) and LG (1-866-372-2928). Passaic County also holds electronics collection events for county residents, and proof of residency is required. The next one is October 23–24, 2026, at 950 High Mountain Rd., North Haledon.

Don't do this

  • Don't put a TV out with FILCO trash or bulk. TVs are banned from NJ trash and aren't on Paterson's bulk-item list.
  • Don't bring TVs to the county household hazardous waste day. Electronics aren't accepted.
  • Don't break the screen. Older tube TVs contain lead.

Or pay someone to haul it

If you can't get it to a drop-off site, or can't wait for city pickup, a junk-removal service can take it from inside your home. Prices depend on the company, your location and the size of the load, so get a quote first. Ask whether they recycle or donate items and whether they follow Paterson's rules, especially for electronics and paint.
