How to get rid of stuff in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Philadelphia's Department of Sanitation runs six free Sanitation Convenience Centers, open Monday–Saturday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m., where residents with proof of Philadelphia residency can drop off electronics, mattresses, bulk items and dried latex paint. Large items like appliances, furniture and flat-screen TVs can also be picked up by appointment through the city's Bulk Collection program, and hazardous products like oil-based paint go to the city's household hazardous waste events. Pennsylvania law bans TVs and computers from the trash.
